Kathmandu: The Central Security Committee has decided to further strengthen and make more effective the security arrangements for the upcoming House of Representatives elections.

The decision was made during a meeting held at Singha Durbar on Saturday under the coordination of Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, according to Anand Kafle, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

During the meeting, chiefs of various security agencies briefed participants on the mobilization and management of personnel under the Integrated Election Security Plan formulated for the elections. The committee agreed to make security arrangements more stringent in the coming days. It also reviewed incidents of disputes and clashes reported between political parties in different areas during the election campaign.

The meeting decided that anyone involved in unlawful activities during the election period would be brought to justice without delay.

Necessary directives will be issued to all district security committees across the country to ensure effective implementation. The committee also urged political parties to strictly comply with the election code of conduct.

In light of a recent incident in Rautahat, the meeting called on all sides to maintain mutual goodwill. Special instructions have been issued to security agencies in the district to reinforce the overall security system. Security bodies have also agreed to deploy additional personnel as required, based on local security assessments.

Spokesperson Kafle said that action has already been initiated against individuals involved in disputes during door-to-door campaign activities. He reiterated that strict measures will be taken against anyone who violates the law or the code of conduct.
